Farm to Fork -konferenssi järjestetään virtuaalisesti 15.-16. lokakuuta, jolloin vietetään myös maailman ruokapäivää. Konferenssin teemana on kestävien elintarvikejärjestelmien rakentaminen. Komission tavoitteena on tehdä ensimmäistä kertaa järjestettävästä tilaisuudesta vuotuinen tapahtuma. Komission julkaisi kesällä Farm to Fork eli Pellolta pöytään -strategian, jonka tavoitteena on kehittää eurooppalaista elintarvikejärjestelmää kestävämmäksi. Strategian avulla on tarkoitus myös pienentää EU:n maatalousjärjestelmän ilmastojalanjälkeä, parantaa ympäristön selviytymiskykyä, edistää kansalaisten terveyttä sekä turvata maataloustoimijoiden toimeentulo. Osallistujiksi konferenssiin odotetaan elintarvikealan arvoketjun sidosryhmiä, viranomaisia, kansainvälisiä organisaatioita sekä kiinnostuneita kansalaisia keskustelemaan oikeudenmukaisesta, terveellisestä ja ympäristöystävällisestä elintarvikejärjestelmästä.

Pohjoisen harvaan asuttujen alueiden (NSPA) -verkosto, johon kuuluu alueita Itä- ja Pohjois-Suomesta, Pohjois- ja Keski-Ruotsista sekä Pohjois-Norjasta, järjestää yhdessä Skotlannin ylämaiden ja saarten EU-toimiston kanssa osana Euroopan alueiden ja kaupunkien viikkoa (EWRC) Circular Economy in Arctic Industries -tapahtuman. Tilaisuus keskittyy esittelemään aloitteita ja parhaita käytäntöjä arktisen alueen teollisuudenalojen siirtymässä kohti ilmastoneutraaleja kiertotalouden ratkaisuja. Tapahtuma on osa EWRC:n Vihreä Eurooppa -viikkoa 19.-22.10. Tapahtumassa harvaan asuttujen alueiden teollisuudenalojen kiertotalouden teemaa käsitellään neljän eri esimerkin kautta. The second international Drivers for Wood Construction event including Rothoschool on tour will be held in Joensuu 21.-22.10.2020.
