Suomen biotalousstrategian päivitystyö on käynnissä. Maa- ja metsätalousministeriö järjestää syksyn aikana yhteistyössä alueiden kanssa seitsemän alueellista biotalousfoorumia, joiden tavoitteena on tunnistaa alueiden vahvuuksia, kehittää biotaloutta niiden pohjalta ja tuoda esille alueiden toiveet päivitetyn biotalousstrategian toimenpiteiksi. Alueiden merkitys biotaloudessa on suuri, koska biomassat saadaan metsistä, pelloilta ja vesistöistä. Ne myös jalostetaan usein lähellä raaka-aineiden lähteitä. Strategian päivitystyössä tavoitteena on saada biotalouden jalostusarvo nousuun. Uusiutuvien luonnonvarojen kestävä ja innovatiivinen käyttö tuo ratkaisuja myös ilmastonmuutoksen torjuntaan. Millaiset ovat Suomen metsäsektorin näkymät?
Tervetuloa kuuntelemaan Luonnonvarakeskuksen (Luke) metsäsektorin suhdannekatsauksen julkistamista webinaarina 2.10. klo 10-11.30. Suhdannekatsauksessa Luken asiantuntijat tarkastelevat Suomen metsäteollisuuden viennin ja tuotannon lyhyen aikavälin näkymiä sekä viimeaikaisten muutosten vaikutuksia puumarkkinoille ja metsätalouteen.
