Business Centre is a service network in Pohjois-Savo, strengthening the expertise and international competitiveness of the province, its business life and other organisations.

In the next few years, a centre of excellence and innovation ecosystem, which will be among the most significant in the country, will be built around the educational establishments, Kuopio University Hospital, research institutes and enterprises. A significant joint learning environment for entrepreneurship will be created for the use of educational establishments, to be combined with the open commercialisation process of innovations. A common practical entrepreneurship education strategy for three levels of education will also be created in North Savo.

The building of the Business Centre is coordinated by the Savonia University of Applied Sciences together with its partners, the Savo Vocational College (Sakky), the City of Kuopio, Varkauden Navitas Kehitys Oy, and the University of Eastern Finland. The City of Iisalmi and the Ylä-Savo Vocational College YSAO are also involved in the operations.

The Business Centre operates under project funding between 1 September 2018 and 31 March 2021. The total budget of the project is EUR 2,2 million. The project is funded by the ELY Centre for South Savo (ESR) and the Regional Council of Pohjois-Savo (EAKR).
