GTK Mintec: Mineralogical and beneficiation research services

The Outokumpu pilot plant of the Geological Survey of Finland and the beneficiation and mineralogy laboratories operating in connection with it develop new expertise in minerals grinding and beneficiation processes and produce research services in the beneficiation technology, such as for the needs of the mining, chemicals and metal industries.

The research entity spans from mineralogical research and laboratory-scale beneficiation tests to continuously operated pilot-scale test runs.

Mineralogical analyses are a key tool in the development, e.g. beneficiation methods for minerals. The processes in the minerals technology are also excellent for environmental and recycling studies, for example, in the cleaning of contaminated land and the separation of metals from industrial slags.

Our research services include, e.g. process mineralogy and other mineralogical studies, the beneficiation technology and pilot plant operations, laboratory-scale studies, minipilot studies, test plant-scale studies, and environmental and recycling studies.
