Memory Campus
The added value of the Memory Campus innovation platform service comes from the strong expertise of every actor in the platform in the areas of archive and information management, research and training, and business activities, as well as from cooperation on the platform in order to strengthen the growth of expertise of all actors on the platform.
Memory Campus is a centre of expertise and service in the archive and library sector and information management and ICT, located in Mikkeli. The activities of Memory Campus aim for the development of archiving, digitising, information management, software sector and the related research and training activities by supporting and strengthening cooperation between actors, while adding the creation and commercialisation of new innovations and concepts.
The actors in Memory Campus together form a centre of expertise and enable the creation of new from the viewpoints of expertise, research, training and business development.
The participants to Memory Campus are the National Archives of Finland, the National Library of Finland, the Central Archives for Finnish Business Records (ELKA), the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), Mikkeli University Consortium (MUC, the National Library of Finland is also part of MUC), South Savo Vocational College (Esedu), Digitalia, Muisti Centre of War and Peace, Disec Oy, Fujitsu, Kiinteistökehitys Naistinki, Rock Solid IT, Suur-Savon Sähkö Oy, Etelä-Savon Energia Oy, MPY, Suur-Savon Osuuspankki, Csam Kibi, and several software companies based in Southern Savo.

Depending on their activities, the actors of the Memory Campus have at their disposal various scanners and digitising equipment, and general IT equipment, as well as servers and physical storage space where the materials are stored. Muisti is also using, e.g. AR and VR equipment for visual presentation of material.
