Multidimensional Tourism Institute
The Multidimensional Tourism Institute offers experts, training, research and development services for its clients. The institute provides diverse tourism training services and professional and expert workforce for the needs of businesses.
The Multidimensional Tourism Institute is composed of the tourism units of the University of Lapland and the Lapland University of Applied Sciences. The expert community also includes the experts of the Lapland Education Centre REDU and the tourism and associated sectors of the Vocational College Lappia. The experts of the Institute carry on research that develops and applies multidisciplinary theory and take part in responsible development of the tourism industry.

- Safety management and risk management of a tourism enterprise, 1 day. A practical workshop on safety management as part of a company’s day-to-day management, taking statutory obligations and the client’s comprehensive safety value chain into account. The workshop uses especially tools developed for the risk management and self-supervision of a tourism company.
- Safety plan and crisis management of a tourism area, 1 day. A practical workshop on the targets, purpose and process of the safety plan for a tourism area; actors, roles and responsibilities of the area’s safety network; crisis management and crisis communication. Examples of the safety plans and common guidelines of tourism areas. Suitable participants to the workshop come from tourism regional organisations, tourism companies and the local authority, and representation of the local rescue service and police.
