Precision engineering laboratory services
The precision engineering laboratory of the Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Joensuu is unique in Finland in terms of its machinery and equipment. Precision engineering equipment is used for manufacturing optic and mechanic components in cooperation with Finnish and international companies and for the needs of scientific research and industry.
The laboratory offers services to enterprises, organisations and private persons. Precision machining expertise in the manufacture of optic and mechanic components is part of our specialist expertise in precision engineering. For example, our Ultra Precision Unit nano machining environment can be utilised for product development and research.
The services of the laboratory include:
- energy-efficient lighting solutions
- precision-manufactured prototype and short-run production of plastic and metal parts
- demonstration environment of MIM technology
- high-speed and nano-precision machining
- die casting
- various measurement technologies
Precision technology is utilised in the design and manufacture of complicated products, machines, tools and equipment when the parts must be of accurate size in terms of their size and shape. It is used when particularly precise measurement is needed or when the surface quality must be extremely accurately implemented. Elements of all sizes are manufactured and tested with precision engineering.
